D) Character name: Steven "Steve" Coulson
E)Reltionship to Canon Character(s): He is the son of Phil Coulson and Amanda Harris (ie the cellist). He will most likely have ties with the other Avengers brats.
F) Do you see the character as a primary character, who would be used regularly? A secondary character, who would be more background? Or a plot character, who shows up from time to time and drives stories? I see him as being a bit of Main Character and Plot.

H) Base of operations: SHIELD Helicarrier or his small apartment in NYC
I) Physical description (face, build, weight): Steve is the same height as his father, but is wiry and a little bit paler because of his mother. he always has a nice suit.
J) Abilities: Steve has the normal abilities of a human who undertakes moderate to heavy exercise. In addition, he has access to what he calls "The Toybox", a large warehouse of confiscated weapons that SHIELD is allowed to use legally. Most of the time.
K) Weaknesses and flaws: He's a squishy and stab-able human.
L) Alignment (villain, hero etc): SHIELD Agent
M) Relatives (living or dead): Phil Coulson (father, alive); Amanda Harris (mother, deceased); Maria Coulson (sister, alive)
N) Backstory: Steve has had an interesting life. His father was a high ranking SHIELD member and Avengers liaison and his mother was a concert cellist. While his father was always busy, he didn't feel even the slightest bit neglected. At least, he didn't until his mother died giving birth to his baby sister. With his long term girlfriend gone (Coulson and Harris never married, because of fears he would be killed; the irony is not lost on the Agent), he threw himself hard into his work, grooming both his children into following in his footsteps. Steve took to the work like a champ, but once he became a member of SHIELD he was gladly put into a desk job. He didn't want to be a field agent. He saw just what happened. he was proud of what his father did, and what his fellow agents did. It...was just not for him. Maybe it was neglect, or maybe because his heart wasn't in it.
Then came the attack on Avengers mansion. Phil Coulson was at hand for the attack and while he was able to get away and warn SHIELD, he received several wounds that were career ending. And the Coulsons have a long and distinguished career of being liaison between SHIELD and the Avengers. This put Steve on top of a very short list.
